How Singapore are faring at the Asian Athletics Championships Part 2

Here are Singapore’s remaining results from the Asian Athletics Championships in Guangzhou which ended on Saturday:

Men’s Discus:

Scott Wong (national junior record for 1.75kg discus: 49.60m) finished 10th out of 11 competitors. His best effort was 42.70m. He also recorded two other throws of 42.01m and 42.63m. The event was won by Iran’s Ehsan Hadidi (64.83m) while compatriot Mohammed Samimi took silver (64.01m) China’s Wu Tao was third in 59.27m.

Women’s High Jump

Michelle Sng (National record and national junior record: 1.80m) finished 12th out of 13 competitors after her best effort of 1.70m. She subsquently failed to clear 1.75m in three attempts.

China’s Zheng Xing Juan won with 1.93m while Uzbekistan’s Nadiya Dusanova (1.90m) and Svetlana Radzivil (1.87m) were second and third.
